Our Favorite Places to Read in New Orleans
Bryan

Jennifer: In bed under lots of covers is my most favorite place to read, but PJ's Coffee & Tea Co., just a block from Maple Street Book Shop, comes in a very close second. I like the table to the left, right beyond the counter. It has enough light and is far enough away from the distractions of the entrance. I hold my book in one hand, and the other rests on a hot cup of coffee.

Rhoda: Cafe Luna, on the corner of Magazine and Nashville. It's a sleepy local coffee shop that's low key and has a superb oak tree you can see from the porch. I read, people-watch, and see who's going into Starbucks across the street. In Audubon Park at the back part on the Mississippi River. I like to sit on a bench or in a shelter or on the rocky stairs leading right down to the river. And there's a restroom a short stroll away
.
Bryan: I think my favorite place to read in New Orleans is under a tree in Audubon Park. It's relaxing to go and feel like I'm back in the country (I'm from North Carolina) and not in a big city. When it's raining, I also like P.J.'s Coffee Shop on Maple St. and Cafe Nino on Carrollton Ave. I live uptown so they are easy to get to from the streetcar.
